Meltem joined Ersoy Lab in 2020 to study the effects of post-prandial ER stress and its metabolic consequences. Meltem received her M.D. from Baskent University in Ankara, Turkey. There, she studied the reliability of the current methodology to diagnose depression in primary health care institutions. She is interested in exploring the complex relationship between metabolic and mental health prior to starting her Residency in Medicine. Meltem adapted to basic research by quickly learning and applying molecular biology techniques. Beside her delicious cookies, Meltem always has a funny viral video on hand to cheer up the lab members.
